Opportunites for Ministry
The Gospels only record one prayer request from our Lord Jesus. “Pray for laborers!” God has placed you in this local church in order that you might be edified (built up) so that you might work for and serve Him. To remain sedentary is to neglect God’s very purpose for our salvation. God works through our life experiences, desires, spiritual gifts, personalities, and abilities to prepare us to serve in His church. By serving, you behave like Jesus and glorify Him. If you are not already involved, somebody somewhere is praying for you to become involved. Involvement in ministry is a life of service for Jesus, like Jesus, and with Jesus. In fact, it’s all about Jesus.
We hope each new member will discover an area of service which brings them joy and strengthens their faith. There are many opportunities to become involved here at North Lexington Baptist Church. Below you will find a brief description of many groups and committees that will offer you the opportunity to make new friends, grow in your love for Christ and for this local body of believers, and to use the gifts and talents that God has given you in ways that will honor and glorify Him.
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
The first and most important thing that you and your family can do is to get involved in Sunday School. Please find a class that best meets your spiritual needs and join it as soon as possible. All classes meet on Sunday morning at 9:00am. See the "Adult Sunday School" and "Children's Sunday School" sections for a list of available classes.
