Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
March - April
North Lexington Baptist Church will be collecting our annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering during the months of March and April. Our goal this year is $1,000.00. We all should be praying faithfully for this important ministry and what God desires for us to give.
The North American Mission Board (NAMB) exists to help every church take its next step in missions and encourage every believer to live on mission. NAMB’s mission field is the United States, Canada and the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa. This region contains diverse ethnic groups, languages and religions. Approximately 269 million people in North America do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Through your gifts to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and the Cooperative Program, NAMB supports more than 5,000 missionaries and more than 3,800 chaplains who serve in difficult places where the gospel is often not welcome.
Through Send Network, we help Southern Baptists plant new churches. In the last 100 years, SBC churches in proportion to population has dropped. By partnering with churches to train and deploy church planting missionaries, NAMB’s goal is to help Southern Baptists plant 1,200 new churches annually in cities, small towns, college campuses and military communities.

"Secret Church" Simulcast
Friday, April 20, 2018 6:30PM-1AM
North Lexington Baptist Church is hosting Secret Church 18 on April 20th 2018. The topic this year is Cults and Counterfeit Gospels. Please join us and the thousands of others around the world for one night of intense Bible Study, Prayer and Worship. This teaching is meant to remind us of the hunger for God’s Word that exists among many underground churches around the world. We will consider the claims of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and other groups that claim to teach the truth. We will also explore more subtle distortions of the gospel, including prosperity teaching that is rampant across the church. In the end, our goal is to walk away from this Secret Church not only enabled to discern false gospels, but also equipped to share the true gospel with people around us and with peoples around the world. If interested please RSVP by April 5th. Study Guides can be purchased until April 6th @ a cost of $10.00. See Steve Walser for further information.

Gal 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— (7) not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. (8) But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. (9) As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
A Night to Remember
Satuirday, April 28th starting at 6pm
We are planning a very special fellowship evening for everyone to enjoy on Saturday evening beginning at 6pm. It will include a Covered Dish Meal, so be thinking about what you would like to bring for everyone to enjoy. We will need side dishes, meats, bread, drinks, etc.
As a special treat, there will also be a “Chopped Junior Dessert Baking Contest.” Any young lady or gentleman may participate. All contestants will be asked to prepare their favorite desserts and each dessert will be judged for taste, presentation and creativity by our specially selected panel of judges. After the contest, your desserts will be served for everyone to enjoy.
(You may prepare your desserts at home or if you wish for Ms. Jo Ann or another member of the Host and Hostess Committee to help you, let us know and we will arrange for you to do your cooking here at church—Just remember no one can do the cooking for you—you must come up with your own recipe and it’s ingredients and you have to do all the preparation yourself.) The winners will receive a special prize. If you want to be a contestant, please let Riley Prat or Jo Ann Brady know as soon as possible.
We also want everyone to bring your favorite photo albums with you with lots of pictures of you and your family growing up. We will share our pictures with each other along with our favorite childhood memories. It will truly be a “night to remember”.
This will be a very special and fun time. Please, please plan to attend.
